Mika Zibanejad concussed? Senators' to evaluate on Saturday

The Ottawa Senators held center Mika Zibanejad out of practice on Friday as a precaution after the 20-year-old left Thursday night's game with the Florida Panthers with what the team is classifying as an upper-body injury.

Though coach Paul MacLean maintains the cryptic diagnosis, there are many in the media speculating that Zibanejad has a concussion, given his history with them in the past - if not, there is a possibility that he could suit up for Saturday night's contest with the Phoenix Coyotes.

“He’s been playing well for us, so, yeah, we’re looking forward to coming in (Saturday) and saying ‘Yeah, he’s playing for us,’ that he’s ready to go, but right now we can’t say that,” - MacLean

Day-to-day is the watchword on Zibanejad, who is seventh on the team with 15 points - eight goals and seven assists - and eats up 14:04 on average.

The Senators will evaluate him on Saturday morning and make a decision from there.
