Derek MacKenzie rejoins Blue Jackets

The Columbus Blue Jackets are one of the most wounded - if not the most wounded - team in the National Hockey League this season, but some of the players on the skids are set to return.

Right winger Jack Skille and center Derek MacKenzie are scheduled to be back on the ice on Monday night as the 'Jackets travel to Raleigh, North Carolina to take on the Carolina Hurricanes.

Skille has been up and down between Columbus and their AHL affiliate in Springfield and has played in just eight games for the parent club.  He took a puck of the wrist at Philadelphia last Thursday, causing him to miss the back end of the home and home series with the Flyers on Saturday, while MacKenzie suffered a lower-body injury against the Winnipeg Jets and missed both games against Philadelphia.

MacKenzie has just three points in 28 games, but lends a physical presence with 82 hits.  Skille has three goals in his eight games.

Both will take their spots on the third line along side left winger Blake Comeau.
