Bruins' Dennis Seidenberg not traveling to Ottawa

Boston Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg will not travel with the team to Ottawa for Saturday night's back end of a home-and-home series with the Senators due to a right leg injury suffered in the front end of the series, a 5-0 shellacking of the visitors in Boston on Friday night.

Seidenberg got tangled up with Corey Conacher behind the Bruins' net, losing his balance, spinning around and taking Conacher with him, the Senators' forward landing on Seidenberg's outstretched right leg and appearing to hyper-extend the blue liner's knee.

"He's being evaluated right now, and I was told he's not coming on the trip with us," Bruins coach Claude Julien told the media after the game.

There was no word nor indication of an impending call up from Providence to spell the solid Seidenberg, but chances are good that if there is a call up it will be David Warsofsky, who was sent down to Providence on Thursday after playing three games for Boston.

If the Bruins decide that they want Kevan Miller instead, it would likely be for the remainder of the season since he's played his allotted nine games and would be required to be exposed to waivers to be sent back down.
