Adam McQuaid return for Bruins

The Boston Bruins welcomed defenseman Adam McQuaid back to their lineup on Monday night - then saw him go right back into the room with team trainers after springing a leak above his right eye, the result of heavyweight bout with Nashville's Eric Nystrom.

Perhaps not the best way to initiate his first shift back after missing nine games with a strained groin.

McQuaid's returned to the ice about 10 minutes later sporting some nifty thread work, teaming with young Torey Krug to form an energetic third defensive pairing behind the opposing brick wall of Zdeno Chara and Johnny Boychuk on the first line and David Seidenberg and David Warsofsky on the second.

A stay-at-home defenseman, McQuaid has but three points in 18 games, but does sport 39 penalty minutes and took his fourth fighting major in the Monday night contest in Nashville.
