Philly's Matt Read game-time decision on Saturday

Though Philadelphia Flyers' third-line centerman Matt Read's upper-body injury isn't thought to be serious, he nevertheless missed Thursday game against the Colorado Avalanche and is probably a game-time decision for their match in Phoenix on Saturday night.

Read suffered the injury on New Years' Eve in Calgary.

Coach Craig Berube called his decision to hold Read out of Thursday nights' loss to the Avs as "precautionary" in nature and Flyers' General Manager Paul Holmgren said the Read is still day-to-day.

Philadelphia has been on a roll of late, winning four straight in impressive fashion and six of eight to climb above the .500 mark on the season while averaging slightly over four goals per game - three of four on their current roadie against Western Conference foes.

The 27-year-old Read has 19 points in 39 games and is averaging 19:29 of ice time while seriously ramping up his game this season.
