Hits don't have to be dirty to turn a player's brains into a bowl of oatmeal.
Philadelphia Flyers' left winger Michael Raffl doesn't remember anything about the hit that Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog laid on him Thursday night in Denver, but from the video replay and the opinion of Flyers' coach Craig Berube, he feels it was a clean hit.
“The puck came around the boards and I just tried to poke it back, a reverse play,” Raffl told reporters. “I just remember coming up from the ground. I saw the video." The 25-year old went on to remark that he didn't have any headaches and actually feels good.
“I didn’t expect to feel this good - no problems at all. I think I’ll be fine.”
Raffle skated with the team on Saturday morning but was held out of Saturday night's game in Phoenix against the Coyotes as a precaution until the team returned to Philadelphia on Sunday - and hopes that he can be back in the lineup on Tuesday night in New Jersey.
He has been productive for the Flyers as he has two goals and 11 points in 29 games, sporting a plus-two rating and averaging 13:13 of ice time per game.
