Av's Ryan O'Reilly day-to-day with freak shoulder injury

From the "We're not kidding" department: Colorado Avalanche left winger Ryan O'Reilly will miss Wednesday night's game against the Ottawa Senators due to a group hug gone awry.

O'Reilly jammed his shoulder while joining a group hug during the celebration of linemate Paul Stastny's third period goal in the Av's 4-3 home loss to the Calgary Flames on Monday night.  The team has listed him as day-to-day with a sore shoulder.

In all seriousness, the Avalanche can ill-afford to lose O'Reilly for any extended time, as he is tied with centerman Nathan MacKinnon for 4th on the team in scoring with 28 points.  In 42 games played, the 22-year-old has 14 goals and a matching number of helpers.

A candidate for the Lady Byng Trophy, presented annually to the player best exhibiting sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct while maintaining a high level of play, O'Reilly has spent no time in the sin bin and sports a plus-three rating while averaging a solid 19:26 of ice time.
