The coach for the for the Czech Republic team that will be competing in the Sochi Games confirmed his countrymen's worst fears, that the knee injury suffered by San Jose Sharks left wing Tomas Hertl will prohibit the rookie sensation and rising national hero from competing in the Winter Olympics.
Another evidence how serious is #sjsharks Hertl's injury: Czech national coach Hadamczik confirmed for isport.cz Tomas won't play in Sochi.

The 20-year-old Hertl is scheduled to have surgery on his right knee next week and the Sharks have said they expect him to miss at least a month, which would put his time table to return just before the beginning of the games.
But when asked about a more firm time table for the rookie phenom's return, Sharks' General manager Doug Wilson wasn't tipping his hand, but suggested Hertl would be out for much longer than many had hoped.
"Certainly, it’s longer than a month. It’s going to be beyond that. I don’t know." Wilson offered, "You go in hoping it’s one thing, but I think they feel fairly, reasonably comfortable that they know it’s a couple of things going on. Obviously, the more that’s in there, the more damage that’s done, the more extensive the repair and the longer he would be.”
The translation is the same no matter what language you speak: Hertl is hurting, and will not be playing for the Czech National Team in Soshi.
